Thread regarding L Brands layoffs

Asked my lawyer what info I need from "transition" meeting:

1) Severance (type, source, amount of payments)
2) Mass layoff/Buyout ID#
3) Your employer FED ID# (not as simple as just "Lbrands")
4) your start date mm/dd/yy (even a day off can cause denied unemployment app)
5) Specific reason for separation ****
6) How and when receive departure details including #5 especially, in writing?

Let sinking ship sink with them onboard not me!

What do you mean by extend by 5 weeks? I did not hear that from the HR person in my meeting.

Separation date is Aug 14. Then 6 weeks after that. Can be extended 5 additional weeks if you don’t have anything by then. Full pay and benefits during that time.

Can anyone else confirm the number of severance weeks? I worked 8 years, but 6 weeks severance.

Severance is usually 2 weeks for each year you worked there.

Having been laid off before, don't sign anything. They can't withhold pay but may try to with severance but generally even that is dicey at best.
