Jim stated in the meeting that we will have 60 days to leave the company after we find out if we are considered redundant, and that if we leave before those 60 days are up we won’t get our severance package.
If a company offers you a job, they will want you to start working right away or two weeks after you put in your notice.

It's your own fault. Large company thousands of people, numerous business units, Dept ... Etc. and you come with all caps Jim?
To the OP, were you born yesterday? This is standard in business, if you are laid off you get severance, if you quit you do not.
The 60 days is a warning, on the 60th day when you walk out the door you have been "laid off", if on day 59 you leave to start a new job then you have quit.
I hope you have continued success in being able to dress yourself each day as your post makes me thing you could have problems in that area.
