COVID Company Wide Work Force Reduction Has Started

Got an impromptu meeting, leadership hopped on and delivered the news that we had lost several team members due to a company wide work force reduction. Anyone else seeing the same? Was told it is will be company wide.

Anyone non-sales related hit yet? Anyone hit this week with a mystery calendar invite yet? Rumor said this would happen all month if it truly is the 6% reduction reported. Curious if there is any early week activity.

A few H1Bs now moving around fast, roles changing. An announcement that all staff can now apply to work from home. That's pretty forward thinking and cost saving and attracts lower cost staff. I will take a pay cut to not sit in traffic for 2 hours and drive a desk next to Tebor all day.

Yep. Two friends of mine, both TSRs, were let go yesteday (early afternoon). One was in GCCN, the other, OEM.

Both had been with Dell for over 15 years.

No rhyme or reason for their exit.

No management calls so far.

Both were invited to 1x1s via Zoom and told by manager and an HR rep. Read from a script. Didn't answer questions.

It's enterprise and storage and we should have all expected this long before Corona.

Welcome to the pool of 14 million other red blooded Americans suffering unemployment. Interesting to know how many "Highly Qualified" (read: Kracker Jacks box degrees) H1Bs get to keep their (our) jobs at Dell Technologies.

"TBH it was kind of expected. We already had specialists and AE's tripping over each other and managers kept shoving more people in and splitting territories again and again. Too many staff and not enough customers. Even without the downturn we were overloaded. Good luck to all"

Yes, this has been the case for years. Tiny territories sliced up so many times adding so many overlays they had to repeat enormous buying every quarter no matter what.

Yup, I’m in GCC and got the unexpected 1:1 Zoom invitation yesterday and was unexpectedly riffed. Not performance related, as I’ve been over 100% every quarter for three years. No details were shared but obviously reducing workforce.

A couple of Ent SEs I know were let go yesterday. I also heard all cuts were happening yesterday as well, have not heard anything around RIFs continuing over the next 4 weeks.

I'd be interested to see how many H1B's are eliminated once this is all said and done.

6% Global reduction and all coming down over the next 4 weeks. About 10000 people by the looks of it? Waiting for the internal announcement but it had to come. Good luck to all with 1:1's booked like me.

Me too! Got pulled in a 1 on 1 with manager and hr rep. Was reading from a script. Wasn't performance related but it was the company wide decision. Looking forward to new opportunities

Lost one in our group today. Broad company wide cut. They said all the cuts were happening today so if you made it through, should prob be good for time being. Standard severance is 2 months plus 1 week per year.
