Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

OSHA

OSHA! Has the great Honeywell though about OSHA?

OSHA's mission is to "assure safe and healthy working conditions for working men and women by setting and enforcing standards and by providing training, outreach, education and assistance" OSHA has the authority to shut you down.

Have the Honeywell HVAC systems been tested for prevention of covid-19 spread regardless of fact or fiction?

@2krj+16bvp9Vh Even so, I would rather have a cheap over-the-glasses plastic shield chipped than my pr-scrip-ion (why is that censored?) glasses.

Not debating, just complaining. It's asinine...you walk down to the factory because they request your support and you already wear pr-scrip-ion glasses, but someone walks up to you insisting that you put a plastic F150 windshield over your glasses. Ridiculous.

Anyway, whether or not it's a requirement to wear safety glasses due to VPP, our discussion is a moot point. It's not worth debating.

"Safety glasses were required in all shop areas when I started as a Mfg. Engineer in 1978 and It has nothing to do with VPP. It's quite possible that there were no eye injuries in the last 50 years as you stated due to people wearing safety glasses."

If you are referring to machine shops you make sense otherwise you must be a unique case. 100% of safety glasses mandates since 2000 are because of VPP. Most people hate to wear them because they are a bother and are completely unnecessary.

"Many Honeywell sites are exempt from all OSHA inspection, other than a scheduled & coordinated inspection occurring every 5 years to re-certify.

Exactly. And this folks is why people are made to wear the effing safety glasses in all shops, factories and labs- even when there is zero risk for eye injuries and none on the books historically going back 50 years. No exceptions. Yep, that's VPP.

Actually VPP sites are not exempt from inspections when an employee files a complaint with OSHA.

Trump cut OSHA to the point that uts performing the fewest inspections in its entire history. There are so few inspectors that it would take 165 year to get 1 inspection now.
