Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

We need to work together

There are a lot of posts on this site but none of it bothers up because it is mostly nonsense. And they delete any posts that mention any specific names. There's no point posting about striking. It will never happen. UP is a public trade company and its their job to make as much money as possible so layoffs are part of the world we live in. But what we can do is attack the credibility and reputation of UP and expose them for what they really are. Aside from profits all UP cares about is image. A few of us are working to organize a strategy. We are current and a former employees including IT and HR both union and management and we have hard evidence of some very unscrupulous stuff and still have access. We will post easy ways we believe that will bother them and they can't do anything about it. The first is easy. If you haven't noticed yet that when you go to glassdoor.com the default view of the posts is the ones that have gotten tagged as helpful by the most users which HR employees were asked to do and that is a fact. But if you resort the view to most recent you will see so many bad reviews. So heres what you do. Go to the website and leave a review and use these key words. Unethical. Unsafe. No Diversity. No job security. That will create a theme of reviews. Then view the reviews and sort in order of most recent and click on helpful review for all the negative reviews and that will push them to the top. Believe us this will get their attention and make them mad. We will post more on this website soon and soon start sharing more insider info. There is power in numbers and we need to be organized and smart.

Work together for what? Attacking the credibility and reputation is pointless at this point. I agree with the post, but what's the point of what you're recommending? It will do nothing. The UP already knows they have a problem. If the rumors are true about them trolling sites like these, then the mission has already been accomplished. Its just a waiting game now for the remainder of the employees. The recent executive shakeup/reassignment kind of tells me something bigger is coming.

Again I agree with this post, but what you're asking for has already been done or is still happening.

Why should we work together when we can cut each other’s throats for some more money or the promise of some more money down the road? None will stick together because they are greedy for some more money. We are supposed to be the union, but we are only for ourselves, therefore no union, which has become a “dues” collection machine.

This post is b.s. if you had “evidence” of wrongdoing you would have posted it instead of saying you would share later. I don’t like the way UP is conducting business and treating employees and wish precision railroading had never been thought of. With that said, there is nothing we can do about it and bad reviews on Glassdoor and Indeed will not change things. The board cares nothing about the CE0’s rating as long as they are profitable, and stock holders care less. The only ones that care about these reviews are the people posting on this site. I agree that those with only a couple of years to go should not leave. Those left that hate the company should try to find another job.

It’s not so much as they’re hiring id–ts, although that does happen. I believe it’s more of becoming an id–t that’s the problem.

Well a lot of people have done so much time at UP it would be foolish to leave a year or two before retirement, but that doesn’t mean they can’t express how the company has gone downhill.

Only companies with a toxic culture and poor leadership blame their employees instead of looking internally to find a solution.

As far as hiring id–ts, well that would be UP HR and the management team that supervises them.

Up employees hate their company but choose to stay. Who’s the id–ts?
