HR told me that they had plans to call everyone back.
Any severance pay given to me was mine to keep..it would end when I was called back and I was not expected to pay the severance back when I returned to work.
I am waiting for a return call from an Attorney to see how to proceed and see of it is possible to get the extra severance due me..

Just your typical id–t Hertz Employee they hired. Asking to get a severance and believing he will be rehired back.

The severance had a certain cap amount from my understanding when I was laid off. I was just under 4 years so it didn’t apply to me but that’s how I remember it.

I was an area manager until earlier this year. Severance was 1 week full salary for every year served. I worked for 8 years and it was about 10K. I'm pretty sure if you have unpaid severance, you are considered an unsecured debtor and unlike to get any additional money. Mine completed before the bankruptcy so, admittedly, I haven't been paying super close attention, but that was my understanding.

You can lose unemployment if you take severance, it depends on the state. I live in Az and you have to claim severance pay or paid vac, etc so AZ did not pay me unemployment until the severance pay was over.

Remember it was said if they owed you over $13,000 that there’s a possibility of you not receiving your full severance. However, a lot of people didn’t sign the letter thinking they would not receive unemployment because of the severance. That wasn’t true. In fact, you could’ve gotten both. In addition to, if you received your severance clearly Hertz cut tides with you and if you want to go back you’d have to reapply. Losing your seniority and pay.

I worked for Hertz for 35 years..
So that was to be 50 weeks severance pay..
Did anyone use the website Hertz provided or did you get an Attorney?

Severance pay means you're not coming back. Laid off rather than furloughed. Not sure why anyone would tell you that you're getting that much in severance pay only to return a few months later.

If the person worked for 30 years and earned 60k a year, 31k seems reasonable. Its the tenure that gives you salary for more weeks.
