Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

What is happening with furloughed

I’m starting to get really angry. I believe there are still about 12 people still
Furloughed and there is Zero information on when we go back. Everytime I call the store ( if I get through) it’s oh 2 mores
Weeks. I’m starting to wonder wtf is going on... can’t get a hold
Of HR... anyone experience the same thing ??

This negative person needs help this forum can't provide. Seek out help and stop bringing others down. And maybe stop blaming others for your own problems and situation. And don't make it personal!!!

Yes I am a miserable c–t and I dont f—ing care anymore, yes I am mentally ill bc of that hellhole and yes I wouldn't say this sh– in real life because I can't speak to anyone that is sane themselves, I break my a– for them for nothing and I am told my job is worthless now, so it doesn't matter what I say, all I pray for is to be let go but they won't because I am the only person in the store who can perform my so-called worthless job. And no I can't just leave and go somewhere else because I am sick and need the benefits.

She’s commenting all this sh– cause like I said she’s mentally ill. No sane person acts like her. Oh and ps; I was called back first and I didn’t go back bc I felt it was too soon to go back in June. So the only piece of sh– is YOU. Like another person commented, you wouldn’t be commenting if this wasn’t Anonymous. Say what store you’re at and your name u miserable c–t

Wow what the hell?

Who is this negative person who is so self-centered and conceited they think only the worst people were let go? At my store a lot of quality people were given the boot, and I was one of them. Over 20 years with the company. It was a mix of great workers and c-ap, so it confuses me why that would be said. Serves no purpose to be so negative.

I'm the one who triggered y'all, go nuts all you want, try and make yourself feel better that it's the pieces of sh– who aren't being called back and rewarded for being the pieces of they are. So yeah-if you're weren't called back, I hope your unearned money comforts you as you reflect that you are a detrimental piece of sh– who contributes nothing. And if you got called back, it's bc you're a f—ing chump and they know it.

To @1eyx+16e6bssi :
Get over yourself because we all know if this wasn't an anonymous forum you wouldn't be commenting.
And nobody cares what YOU think anyway. Everybody has different sh– happening in their lives. All the person did was vent their frustrationabout their own situation, yet you made it about yourself. You being called back has NOTHING to do with her AT ALL, it was the company that called you back, so just s— it up!! What would you have preferred, @1eyx+16e6bssi, to collect $600 while working? You know NOTHING, so maybe YOU should be thankful you have a job because, as stated above, if this wasn't anonymous, no doubt you would have been terminated for harassing another associate.

WOW! To the person who responded to my post only to berate me and wish nothing but nothing but the worst for me... I truly feel bad for you because u must be so miserable in life to respond to someone like that. I actually have tried to go back to work like 3 times but they’re not releasing the rest of furlough just yet. This is the first time I’ve ever used unemployment side I’m 17 years old u miserable POS. I’ve paid my dues and it’s not my choice to “ sitting home getting a paycheck” I don’t sit on my a– btw. You need major help U definitely have mental issues. Ps: I was just told my job is secure so hope you’re having fun.. I’m going to take a dip in the pool now bahahaaaa C—NT

Wow, @1eyx+16e6bssi what a sour SOB you are. You must've seen family & friends live high on the hog with their money, but please don't assume everyone else was living lavishly. That extra $600 barely gets me to half of what I used to make, with my state's low unemployment benefit.

OP, prepare for the worst, just in case.

You pay into unemployment with every paycheck for years and years. So fir the post that says you don’t deserve it. You’re a asshoke ! It’s there for loosing your job at no fault of your own. !!! Get it yet ? If your laid off or furlough that is no fault of your own. Get a grip !

It is so American and admirable that you want to get back to work. It doesn't bother you that you see the taxes that get taken out of your paycheck that will be there in the event you need the government that attaches your paycheck. You are entitled to the unemployment. Cruise Ship companies that base offshore to evade paying taxes received $100 Million in the last Covid package. They pay no American taxes. Hold your head up and know what you are receiving you deserve. I don't mind my pay being attached for taxes for someone like you a true American who wants to work!!!! Good luck!

I'm not crying for you, you've been away from the hellhole for at least 4 months, collecting unemployment PLUS extra $600, so stop f—ing crying when you're making more money to not work and do nothing. I hope you saved a lot of the money bc I hope you lose your f—ing job, getting all that money to do jack while we bust our cracks with no a/c for no money. I hope they fire you right when unemployment runs out.

I don't want to be a downer but I think they are keeping people on furlough as a plan B. A lot of associates are unhappy with their lack of hours so as they quit they call the next person in.

I know at a lot of other companies furloughs have progressed to permanent layoffs, if the company hasn't gone bankrupt or shuttered altogether. Best to hope for the best and presume the worst in these circumstances. Courage is grace under fire.

It surprises me there are STILL furloughed associates out there. I thought 6/30 was the final day for furloughed associates to be told the status of their respective jobs. My advice: prep now for the worse, pretend like your not coming back and put your ducks in a row. My feeling is you may not be back, but at least you'll be better prepped for if you are not called back. Good luck!

I am still furloughed. I am a flex employee who generally worked nights and weekends, but with 7 pm closings, no nights for me. I am unable to collect because I do have a full time job. Still hope to be called back, but I hear its not busy at all, so probably won't. Oh well, its been swell!!

Yes I’m in the same situation I understand how frustrated you are feel fortunate that you’re able to collect and still has a job?????
Things are so upside down with retail right now it’s very hard to find employment if you desire to remain in this industry.
