And the worst part is, some of our most experienced people are gone yet most of the younger folks who earn less are still here. Why is nobody talking about this? Why is there no mention of this in the media? Have layoffs really become so commonplace that they are no longer considered interesting news?

^^^^ please, comment above, I've watched managers terrorize subordinates to the point of tears, (judging single mothers with zero context, literally changing team members job descriptions completely, no HR involvement) layoffs were probably a blessing in disguise for some people; that place is a joke of a company run mostly by incompetence, insane product margin and aquisution of more hip, successful companies.

What used to be an organization most of us were proud to say we worked for, has become an environment filled with sht decision making by sht management by sht Gina Drosos and her so called sht #pathtobrilliance, which has in reality for most employees turned into a #roadtohell.

Following a 270 million dollar s-xual harassment lawsuit, I find it ironic that the majority laid off were women over 40. Yes the ones that were too concerned about losing their jobs to speak up or take part in the VALID lawsuit! In addition to making those employees "Non-rehirable" if they sign the severance agreement, which pretty much blacklists people that made careers from selling jewelry have to find a new career path as Signet owns the majority of the nation's large chains. All while listing open positions and actively recruiting. People laid off were not laid off due to performance. Not a single male in my district was let go. They also failed to include the documentation as to who was let go even though in the paperwork it states there would be a list provided. One week later, still no return call from HR. Second paragraph states PTO would be paid out, and in detail, yet they note "if applicable" which one would lead to be interpreted as if the employee had PTO remaining, yet in the Q&A it states they are not required to in all states, yet only list 2 that they are not required to, therefore leaving us with no answers, and yet again, still no returned call from HR. Terrible job and terrible delivery. They laid us off verbally 2 weeks before mailing the package, yet didn't allow us to use remaining PTO though we were still employed?! Their way to drag their feet on payout and leave people needing to sign the documents due to federal unemployment stipend ending, yet also stating they have 60 days to initiate payout, and doing so in a bi weekly pay rather than lump sum as to interfere with unemployment benefits, and pretty much leaving us to starve in a failing economy and job market. I expected nothing less from this "people first" company that I've the past 24 years I have worked for them has never once put anyone but the top first and treated their employees like slaves with poor pay and continually changing commission plans that they phrase as commission, yet pay as bonuses so we get hoses in taxes.
I think its funny how you lay off so many people who make you money, but yet Gina and the top leaders got their bonuses. There's an article about it in the NY times.
Customers first, employees LAST. Give them a couple months and they will start rehiring employees.
Signet is not the only one laying people off. I don’t think there is a reason to talk about it. Happens when business gets slow and we can thank Covid-19 for this. Of course the company will get rid of the people who make more money. That is the business smart way. Since they are already losing money why would you keep the one who make more?? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 I’m sorry that they are laid off but live it tough sometimes. People are getting laid off all around the world not just at Signet.
