It was announced the other day that the new scorecard would be based upon a certain proportion of sales, survey scores, and star rewards. Fine. However–it was also told to us that this would be our own personal reviews. I can't tell if the manager misspoke or didn't understand it himself (most likely), but is it true that that's what we are reviewed on? I mean it used to be unfair to begin with considering the percentage of uncontrollables by one person, but a blanket one with no subjective portion? 95% of my daily job does not relate to these categories except very remotely (I'm not even on the floor). I asked two managers but I was only told that I need to be working on these things (which in my capacity it will be very difficult to put my focus and time towards.) Neither one corrected me that this was only for the store and I would be evaluated according to a metric appropriate to my job function and that there would be a subjective part for my manager. It also doesn't account for personal performance. I would like to be evaluated on my own work. Does anyone have any actual, clear facts about the review process for next year?

I understand, i used to care but after years of being screwed, I don’t anymore. I do my job and I do it well. I don’t go above or beyond anymore to the point I was stressed and getting myself sick too for a company that does not care about us. Nope. And there is no such thing as honesty in this company. I used to believe this too. My kool aid drinking days are long gone. Good luck to you though.
I work too hard to not emotionally care. I once worked so hard that I made myself so sick I had a minor cancer scare bc of my odd symptoms. So to hear it doesn't matter... I know in the end it doesn't matter. I just want to be crystal clear on what the 2020 individual employee review will be so that I can be ready when I'm pressed (as I always am) for "open and honest dialogue." I just wondered if anyone else heard or knows anything.
This is what's sad about the review process! Colleagues work hard to achieve their goals and in the end its a slap in the face. The process used is unfair and unethical. People would be given scores they deserve and the store manager would do everything to reduce it because of some petty issues. Standing up for employees don't earn you the syore manager,s pet badge (which last for a hot minute), but standing up for truth and people is ethical. Especially when you know their work ethics. Overall, a much fairer review system is needed, but it has to come from a company that believes in integrity not just talk about it!!!
Does it really matter? They will find an excuse not to give merit increases yet store managers and above will get their bonuses regardless. So don’t overthink it or stress over it. Decide on a personal goal and what you will do to accomplish it. Call it a day
