Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

CVX Office Work Schedule?

What's the typical work schedule for people primarily working in the office? 9/80? Half-day every Friday? Standard 40 hour weeks? On that note, anyone still working from home due to Covid? Is Chevron allowing people to continue working from home indefinitely? My wife's company just notified all employees they will be working from home until early 2021, wondering if other companies will follow suit.

For what it's worth, there is another schedule option that allow you to work 5 days a week, but a few less hours per day....however, most people are on the 9/80 schedule. The Friday you do work is not half day...you get off 1 hour earlier than normal. In either case, you get your 40hrs per week in.

Most Chevron workers in the US are still working from home, and there is a plan in place to re-introduce the workforce back into the office, which runs in parallel with local COVID phase guidance. Chevron has been very non-committal on long term WFH scenarios, despite acknowledgement from leadership that we've been largely successful maintaining productivity during this event.

I don't really see them bringing many people in the US back to the office any time soon...especially considering we are in the middle of a re-org, with many people being either laid off or potentially changing work locations. If I had to guess....Q4 2020 at the earliest, but more than likely sometime during Q2 2021

“deaths from covid are no worse anything else”... that is correct, the USA is the worst. That said, I am sure you are right, all those folks die just to make Trump look bad. We need to stop all this testing, s— it up, and take one for the dear leader.

A 1000 depths a day? Really! Besides the fact the rest of your post was incoherent the deaths from covid are no worse anything else. Even motorcycle accidents are being attributed to covid

Yes all office workers still working at home. With 1000 depths a day (and Houston still s hot spot) I do be see return to office for most in the near future.

9/80 every other Friday, still remote but haven't seen anything announced for Houston. Likely depends on schools starting back without problems and county numbers improving. I am planning for it to last until next year but am optimistic it might work out sooner. I doubt oil and gas will go for permanent remote workers.
