Something doesn't make sense here. Quarterly reports were almost all below average. Company continues to lose money, yet since the 2nd qtr report came out stocks have continued to rise. I'm not complaining, I'll gladly take stock price. As of right now it is $211.48 a share. All I am saying is something fishy is going on. Any thoughts?

Easy explanation- Hedge Funds! They are pushing up the stock prices to be in a position to cash out and double their money. They shorted the drop at beginning of COVID, then pumped the rise, then they cash out and leave company in ruins. This is how THEY operate!
I could save them millions if they would let me! id take the ceo job for 1/4 of what they are paying ole black glasses, no shares of stock, maybe an incentive bonus. 1st order of business to cut management by 50%. 2nd order, only on call supervisors need a company vehicle, drive your own car and buy your own gas if not. 3rd-open the humps back up. 4th-safety award-after so many days injury free-day off with pay. 5th-sell the forest! not needed or open it up for all employees!
i hope that all of the ones that has brought this misery to all of us get the covid 19 an have to spend all their money an live like normal folks. the nice sobs
As long as the FED pumps trillions of Monopoly Money into the stock market the bubble will continue to grow.
The reason for lowering the operating ratio was to avoid a possible takeover by the hedge fund groups, at least that’s what we told a few years ago. NS did not want to be like CSX.
So the big wheels decided to get greedy instead of keeping everyone happy and cut and burn.
Now they are hoping someone will buy it out..
2nd quarter 2015 spent 2.7 billion for 433 million profit. 2nd quarter 2020 spent 2.1 billion for 610 million profit. The investors see that even the incompetent people running the company can turn a huge profit, when you have captive shippers and a monopoly it’s not that hard to do.
Very good point! I should have said revenue is down instead of losing money. It doesn't make sense that stocks continue to rise in this event. I expect more sellouts very soon. Apologize for using the term losing money.
When have they lost money ?
