Any idea when the Air Force is going to wake-up to the exorbitant cost over-runs and pull the Big Safari program from L3Harris? Asking for a friend.

Oh young one, L3 is big safari. big safari is government. Think shell stop thinking small. raytheon, L3, harris.....all government.

You must be new to defense work - the AF could not care less about cost or delay! If anything, its desirable as it provides an excuse for larger budget requests and additional bloat all the way down. In DC, $$$= clout, not results; and in defense the goal is the opposite of commercial operations i.e. "build as few widgets as possible for maximum cost - then charge as much as possible for support."

Never! BS is the outlet used to spend without all the BS of going through all the hoops. Much quicker and yes more expensive but gets 'er done!
A lot of the Big Safari programs might be moved either to Melbourne or Rochester as the corporation looks to centralize SATCOM programs.
