New trial program to recruit only people with GEDs. The college graduate program wasn’t working because they all were quitting for better jobs. If you’re interested go to up.jobs and email the POC or see your local manager.

Well when you have a group of people go into a program to teach them how to be a manager, have ZERO RR experience, constantly yelled at by upper management, constantly lying to employees, constantly trying to write up employees, break rules they're supposed to be enforcing, and some that have the IQ of a celery stick, then what did you expect? How do you think the UP got that rating of the #1 worst employer. It certainly wasn't because of the stellar service to the customers, and top notch management. Anyone remember when the UP was offering signing bonuses of up to 25K for certain positions? Was there anyone else concerned why the UP had to pay 25K to get someone to work for them?
It is very real.
This is a stupid posting. Why can’t we get real information here instead of craziness?
It’s true. OMTs with marketable degrees from reputable schools were/are quitting for better opportunities. When I was there, 50% didn’t stay beyond the first year, and only 20% were still there after three years.
UP doesn’t have much to offer a college graduate anyway. There’s no stability or upward mobility, and writing people up/calling for track & time hardly requires a college education. To top it off the salary is well below average for the time spent on the job, even at the time of assignment.
Point of contact. You would be a good candidate. Be sure and follow through.
