Just how busy are your meat departments?

No joke, last Saturday I pulled a 12hr shift and cut 18 cases myself, not even including what the other 2 cutters did. Sunday morning the case wasn’t even filled and we had zero backup.

No, we don’t have a Puma slicer. Had 2 days off in the past 40 days. It’s honestly worse for me to walk into a disaster than work all my days off. Meat ordering should have never been reinstated, our DC will substitute cases of Flap and prime strip for Tenderloin(Butts or pismo). 4-5 days out of 7 I’m the only opener. They’re hiring people out of desperation that have zero business working in the meat room, Zero hustle, Zero care.

Thank you for your service. As a part of the Meat Department, you are one of the few people in your building who are worth the luxurious pay you receive, although the company should pay you so much more. What you do is so much more important than anyone else in Fresh or Merchandising or Membership. No sarcasm, this is serious. Meat keeps the doors open!

Been there done that in meat, they ride the alpha (team lead and staff). Before long they right you in as the problem when you speak up

My club is swamped with 3 full time and 1part time cutter. Saturday's are ridiculous.

Take the OT while you can get it, cuz you know it will be shut off. We have had an increase for a few months till the dog days hit a week or so ago. Also, the dept is properly staffed for the FIRST time in SEVEN years. .01 over 40, and I'm in a ringer.
