RJ leadership, especially IT/IS gets off on these situations. They went for c—tails when the deed was done I'm sure. And they'll be happily golfing and boating this weekend. I empathize with you all. Not the first time they've done this, won't be the last. Unless you were directly invited in for employment there (yes, HR recruiting and hiring is horribly biased and corrupt) you're still not "safe" even if you survived this round. I'd start looking for employment elsewhere if I were still working there. The place operates like high school cliques do. Still a best place to work/top Tampa Bay employer? I think not. #RJCares ..!.. ..!..

I wish I had a list of people so I could reach out. I know at first I didn’t know there were others laid off. So that didn’t feel good. I hope everyone is ok. When is our first happy hour?
I worked in IT and was impacted, if around 175 people were impacted that's a lot. Looks like it was across IT and most teams were impacted. As someone mentioned we all worked hard and on most weeks more than 40 hours and many times on weekends and nights
Any one knows if each IT team laid-off one or more team members?
RJ ship is sinking. Their lack of investment in new applications is astounding. The disruption in financial services is gaining momentum and will be more pronounced in 5-10 years. RJ has had a chance to get out in front of that, instead they double down on antiquated business models and practices. They should be hiring in IT not letting go.
I expect many more years of hard times for RJ as the world moves away from traditional financial companies as Boomers start dying off.
so if the number termed is 550 and I heard over 175 in IT. My understanding is that IT has/had about 1200. if you do the math IT lost nearly 15% and that is after the let most of the contractors go. No wonder they had a major incident this week with more to come. If I am wrong on the numbers please correct me.
550 jobs, is that how many were terminated in this round? that's bigger than I was imagining. full disclosure - I left years ago.
Yes, I was warned early on when I started their and totally agree with your statement. They laid off the wrong people, it should have been upper management as they are running the business into the ground. The time spent micromanaging and tracking employees timesheets would have been better spent cleaning up redundancy and obstacles preventing the simplest tasks from being performed. I could easily tell them how to fix their woes and save 550 jobs, reduces expenses, and improve the bottom line but their culture Prevents that kind of insight from being considered. Those laid off deserve better and will Thank RJ one day for releasing them.
