  • Master principal sales consultant: $122,000 to $199,000
  • Applications developer: $111,000 to $190,000
  • Consulting practice manager: $156,000 to $189,000
  • Senior sales consultant: $114,000 to $157,000
  • Principal consultant: $117,000 to $157,000
  • Site reliability developer: $129,000 to $151,000

These are obviously disposable positions, i.e., to be discarded again at the next lay-off and/or re-org. Hence, we should fill by exploiting lower-paid employee. There are two reasons for this; 1. We don’t have to worry about keeping them happy, and 2. we need to maximize shareholder value

At those salaries, I find it surprising Oracle could not find US citizens to fill the roles as there are plenty of unemployed tech workers right now. Even if the jobs are not long-term, it beats unemployment.

It makes sense for Oracle to hire H1Bs. Americans will be too scared to work for them and these are short-lived positions. Might not last by end of the year or another upcoming layoff. Good people going for better companies.
