You laugh behind a video after announcing the layoffs. You tell us to talk to our direct manager, who knows nothing. You lay us off by video conference after saying the direct manager is going to do it personally. This company is lead by cowards. I hope I get laid off so I can take my severance and find something better.

I didnt hear that at all. Are you talking about people on the “ safe “ phone call from a few weeks ago?

I did hear those that were already given their notice would not receive A call.
The original post is correct depending on how people interpreted the post and the call. The post said layoffs were announced and this is somewhat true. They announced leaders who took assesment would be told today and tomorrow if they are getting their 60 day notice. Non leaders are being told Wednesday and Thursday.
Everyone I have talked to were told by their direct managers that they don't know any impact to their team. They don't know who is staying and who is going. Either they were directed to give this response and are not being transparent or they truly have no idea. Either way, it is troubling.
People are asking but they aren't being told the departments and areas that have already been impacted. Everyone is reaching out to their contacts within different departments and coming on this website to try to find out those impacted.
I think someone must have taken that Allstate news meeting a little too far. They told us we would be notified by Thursday this week if we still had a job. Manager doesn’t seem to know anything either. Kind of a cliffhanger, sure, but we’ve been on a cliffhanger since June. Rather know sooner than later
The OP exaggerates. No one received a layoff notice on that call. I was on it with 10k+ others. We will find out our fate by Thu this week and it will be done with a personal call with manager.

No one got laid off on that call. Stop being dramatic..... You will hear from a manager if you have been selected.. NO ONE GOT LAID OFF ON THE CALL. They were announcing that the layoff notices will be given this week. This is only for employees who had to take the assessment!!!!!!
