How can anyone still believe they have the one up because their depot is represented by a union? You work for Altice, you’re on the same sinking ship as everyone else. You are expendable and you WILL be replaced by subcontractors whether you want to accept your fate or not. Altice reserves the right to lay off employees contingent upon business needs and you best believe these slippery f - - ks will find that “need” and use it to send your a - - packing. There is no future here. Dust off your resume and get out before they force you out.
It's funny how you think that one person can influence an entire department to go union. What if this guy wanted to go union and didn't have the backing of his co-workers. What an id–t, I didnt take two months to realize, It was realized from day one, its just a process and when it comes to altice, just dealing with them dragging there feet and ducking and dodging until they have to go to court then they show their face. When u hear that they don't give a sh– about anything but their investors, they dont give 2 fcks about anything but their investors. As for the union it was the best decision made by Oakland to bad everyone else drank the kool-aid they was serving.
So you don’t think the union helped ask the guys who are back now . Yes it may have taken a few months but that’s how it works my friend. You go union to secure your spot so you just don’t get a pat on the shoulder and told your no longer needed ( like all the non union shops ). Then when the company lies about their reasons why you were let go the union goes and fights for you . Pretty sure again no non union guys were recalled . Your right though those 1.7% dues are k–ling me lol. Can’t wait til they pay your shoulder and your hoping for the recall that never happens. At least they were brought back . Most of us remember when Verizon guys were laid off For 6 month and were hire by Cablevision. They all got their jobs back w back pay . Union dues are tax deductible and the union was able to negotiate better % raises . Get into an accident or failed safety and it’s no raise . I wonder if that flies w the union . But good luck dealing w Alcheap on your own.
lol go union! Yea, they laid off a bunch of guys in Oakland and it took 2 months to realize the contract was broken to bring them back. Never should have happened. keep paying those dues
