My neighbor's kid is a big user of Tik Tok and thought it was cool I worked for Oracle. Apparently this deal has made Oracle trendy with the Tik Tok user base and has generated a renewed interest in the company. I've had another person ask me about what other cool things Oracle do other than Tik Tok. I told them they make hardware which stunned them.

This is just oracle propaganda. Tik Tok is Chinese b—s— with questionable morals pushed on our youths. The “trends” on that site are disgusting and horrible and tear apart our young. Screw oracle, I hope they ruin the app.

This happened to me too. Mail man noticed some mail with the Oracle logo on it and asked if I worked for the Tik Tok division. So it's pretty neat that word is spreading that Oracle is one of the good guys again
My kids ask me “why Oracle buy Tik Tok, what they going to do with it?”, I told them give Oracle some time and nobody will remember what is Tik Tok.
It's still all about the cloud and Oracle missed the boat on that one.
