8017 Breen Closing?

I heard today that US power section manufacturing was to be shut down in two weeks, with tooling and orders transferred to Canada.

If true, sad for the few remaining there.

Can anyone else confirm?

@3jip+174V3odx Look, not trying to be rude because people are going to lose their jobs, but 8018 was an inefficient place being masked by the fact that it rolls up into one large business unit.

At current volumes, there is no way that Breen could do it better than Nisku. Just isn’t financially possible.

F*** NOV management. They couldn’t manage their way out of a cul-de-sac.

8018 is power sections and 8017 is CAPs.

8018 isn’t effective or efficient if it dips below a certain production hours. Also, a very wasteful place.
