Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Hello-Goodbye

Hello new Allstate with your metrics, India, and low paying salaries. I am saddened by your new philosophy of mistreating the employee and the customer for financial gain. The main goal for you is how much money you can save for your greedy full pockets at the end of the year. You are the pure definition of corporate America. What will your future hold?

Goodbye old Allstate. Where we win together, we develop each other, we are the customers advocate, and we are a family. Where laughter once filled those now empty office spaces. Those were the days. Employees and customers were taken care of. The atmosphere was surrounded with joy. Your memory will be missed.

Boycott Allstate! Tell everyone you know about their shady business tactics and to not buy from them ever!

Unfortunately, I think this appears to be the sad direction of the insurance business–personal lines in particular. I retired last year after 35 years in Casualty claims–last 20 with Allstate. I used to literally love my job, and couldn't wait to get to the office the next day to work on the next challenge! I was mentored by OGs who knew their way around the court system and the claim business. My mentors were well respected and regarded by the company for their vast knowledge, wisdom and talent. Those days are long gone. Best of luck to all.

27 years here...I remember it...work hard, put up with alot BUT...cohorts as friends, happy hours, softball games, charity drives, attend weddings of cohorts, retirement cakes in the conference room and sometimes attending funerals.
In recent years: more work, micromanage, stupid processes, reduced benefits, $0 dollar raises...TW at the helm managed to move Allstate from #2 ranked insurance carrier to the #3 ranked insurance carrier and it appears is desperate to get to #4.... while getting millions.
My suspicion is that Tom might be planning his own exit and is using this time to restructure the company for someone else to take over or perhaps the company to be sold to a bigger player.

My biggest regret was missing a golden opportunity and not pouring an ice bucket over Tom Wilson's head at an awards conference. I consulted with my wife first and she said "not a good idea"....ugh,the one that got away.

This post brought a tear to my eye. Thirty years here. We had fun all while making the customers happy. If there is a company out there that would like to be the BEST but doesn't need to be the biggest or richest please give me a call....

Transformative growth my a–, Allstate will keep running themselves into the ground and be irrelevant in a few years. We lost good people who actually cared! Let’s just do it cheaper and fill our pockets..... I’m sick!
