I worked at RJ from 2013-2016, and was laid off from a small department under some very f—ed up circumstances (of which I'll omit here), but I did want to tell you all that life goes on and I promise you'll be ok. This will be nothing but a slightly bitter memory years down the road.
When I look back, RJ treats some of their employees like dirt (usually the hard working, productive ones) and treats the useless, feckless management (and a– kissers) as golden employees. That's my take, anyways; and I still know a few people who work there and hear it's still true.
Point is - life goes on. I didn't realize how much I loathed that industry and my job until I was forced into that position. I then went into IT, and I absolutely love it and never looked back. I'm k–ling it now, working on certs, got in with a cool company, and I'm making more now than I would after many years at RJ.
There is "life after RJ". Take this time to look around at other companies, or maybe even a career/industry change. Look at it as a stressful time, sure....but the rug was pulled out from under YOU, not your fault. However, you have a chance to make big moves and seize opportunities you may not have considered before being put in this scenario.
Best of luck, you all got this.
