Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

FLEX colleagues

Anybody losing flex colleagues in your store in sales? support? AST? I hear they are not opening any more jobs for flex. Also heard the company wants to do away with all flex jobs now.

Not true! We have at least 10 still employed in our store. You have to have flex. Some of our flex were in the first call back group from furlough.

Still have Flex in South Florida. They're being given hours.

We didn’t lose our flex colleagues. Right before the pandemic, the shoe sales & shoe runner flex positions were eliminated. We have sales flex working still.

Flex, or still sometimes called “on call” have no real schedule or hours to count on. Someone calls and asks if you can work. My old manager used to schedule me without asking, but with very reduced hours for everyone these days, that will change. You have no benefits, no pto, no severance when you get laid off. It’s not for everyone, but it works for me.

All flex were let go and given lay-off phone calls. No more flex at Macy’s
