Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Allstate changed

I have been with Allstate since 2016 and up until four or five months ago I thought it was an excellent company to work for. Now I don't feel that way. I work for ASIC and now we have to take 3 chats at the same time and since ASAP has been eliminated agents can't appeal anymore so its difficult to help customers. Also every single day now management is concerned about away time but we are taking 3 chats so it's annoying. I'm really hoping that this supposedly great "Transformative Growth" will only last another year. Also Allstate is not honest about layoffs and dragging it out so it's hard for people to want to leave because they don't want to lose severance

Only employees they seem to care about are in India. If people knew how much work was going over there they wouldn’t do business with them.

ASAP has not been eliminated. Agents ability to escalate concerns to directly to ASAP has been eliminated.

ASIC has become terrible over the last few years. Management that is out of touch with servicing agents and only about numbers numbers numbers. My manager is a complete imbecile who knows nothing about anything ASIC. Now with layoffs coming to ASIC and ASAP eliminated the agents have nothing and they will continue to force impossible to reach goals and metrics while bullying us with threats of UNs and firing.

Advice from someone laid off:

  1. Stop waiting for the workload and environment to improve at Allstate, it won’t
  2. Allstate will dangle the carrot (i.e. pay increase, reclassification, promotions) to accomplish their agenda for as long as possible, with no regard for your wellbeing
  3. Be proactive and start looking elsewhere
