I have 10 years railroad experience. Mostly at another railroad. After 2 years at UP I left willingly. Took a job elsewhere as a manager. I was making 6 figures as a manager at UP. I was willing to take a pay cut to get out of there and I did. A significant one. I was miserable. Nothing made sense. So many bad decisions made by leadership it wasn't funny. Its a miracle that UP isn't dead broke. Never have I experienced such a toxic environment. Even the other railroad wasnt this bad.

If you are making less than 100k as an electrician at UP I’d find a job elsewhere. All I hear is how hard it is to hire qualified electricians at UP to work on locomotives. If that’s true maybe you all should renegotiate for higher pay.
I’ve never made six figures and I’ve been an electrician for 22 years. I know a lot of others who haven’t made that much either. Clerks and fireman oilers are way below that mark. I don’t expect any of them to return if they’re called back either.
If you make less than six figures at UP and didn’t lay off you are actually probably a limo driver.
Many managers make over 100k per year. The ones making less are new managers (OMT) but most move up to higher levels in a few years. Most MTO’s and above are over 100K.
How much do the LA service unit Mgrs, make with the UP/ LA unit scandal going on?
What is this scandal anyways? I'm on the RV hub. RV323 ccirc- 7 terminal.
Yes we already explained that below
Geez people! Give the OP a break, and quit drawing your own conclusions. He made 6 figures as a manager, but I didn't see an amount. His six figures could've been anything from 100k to 999k. I also didn't see what level of management they were. This day and age, it might be taking more than six figures to get people to come back or even work for the UP.
Uh, why is the OP lying about six figures? Do you even work at UP? You do understand that six figures starts at 100,000 right? That’s not that hard to make on the rr. You don’t even have to be a manager. Granted as a manager he was probably making $18 an hour on salary and no off days to get there
I call BS. Six figures? Most will put up with c-ap for this amount of money. $$$ is a motivation factor.
