I’ve been around 25 years and know hundreds of employees worldwide. I know zero who were left standing in R1 or R2. In R3 I know of only two.
How about R4? Should we post initials and former dept? Two I know we’re ETC, planner and geologist.

I believe it about ETC Petrotech folks, it's obvious Chevron IT function has completely devalued engineers in value of clerical roles that do nothing but calculate metrics that we can use in dog and pony shows to leadership. I just heard a comment that basically metrics are more important than our customers. Maybe it will be good if I don't get selected.
The ETC petrotechs are/were about the smartest people in the company. It doesn't surprise me that most took the generous EOI package. Most of those people have other interests to pursue and see the writing on the wall that technical work is devalued at Chevron.
Well I was in ETC R3 and I know dozens left standing and a few given a R4 time table deferment (waiting for potential gaps, even though they are above 25). What is more shocking is the huge number of Sr geotechs who took EOI. This event will be the great crew change rumored for so long. Good luck to everyone in R4. When the dust settles we will need many to step forward to fill in for all the experience we just lost.
At least the business gets to start funding out on the 26th. I heard those in HR still have to wait two more weeks.
New York is a ghost town. Go there at your your own risk. High cost of living and high taxes.
I know many in R3 who were either left standing or had to go through R4. Folks in R1 or R2 who were left standing basically were announced as retirement. The big changes were not at top management positions, instead in R3 they combined the team lead and Unit managers into one position, additionally they cut 10 to 20% technical staff in different BUs and ETC [under nationalization for the Expad jobs and reorg functional structure in ETC and some US BUs].
The numbers are already out for Houston, 700 for R3 and R4, expect 550 to 600 of that to be coming from R4. Wishing everyone the very best, it is challenging and stressful, just keep up the hope and do not panic if you are let go, life will move on and you will find better options to fulfill your life.
Who gives a sh!t?
I have not slept very much in a week here in Midland. Thinking it is going to be pretty bad. Probably lose a ton of money on my house. Don’t know where I will go next. Maybe New York if I get the boot. I’m sure they are looking for workers there.
If you were diligent at periodically downloading your organization’s org charts, then through time it would be a snap to see where the changes occur. I’ve been doing this for years, at saving the charts every time there was an update.
Don't post names or initials. First of all, if something like that happened to you I'm sure you wouldn't like your name or any other identifier all over the internet. Second of all, I'm pretty sure admins here are strict about stuff like that and will delete the entire thread if you do.
It’s 457AM here In APAC.... Another sleepless night worrying about the future ... what’s the next chapter going to be. This wait is excruciating. How can they drag this out and leave people feeling like this with everything else going on in the world. Anxiety high. Good luck everyone.
You had to ask this question? Did you not notice when these type of questions were posed, senior management claimed to not know the details? Do you really believe that they didn't know? If you would be doing your job in this manner, your supervisor would be all over you. You won't know tell way after the fact.
Don't worry about it. Just focus on yourself. Company will let you know the details after the fact.
