I would like to anonymously report an incident that occurred on the 6th floor on one of the buildings on campus. With the recent panic of potential job loss I have noticed my male colleagues have started behaving more brazen. I was at the printer grabbing my papers, when a man I used to respect patted the small of my back. I was shocked, speechless, it was surreal. Never at this company have I ever once felt violated, this used to be a safe workplace. I am not ready to divulge his name or go after him, but I would like guidance on how to make management aware of these new potential hazards in the workplace.

Report to HR / 6th floor's VP or President – If you don't report today or not try to stop it, then it might not be safest place to work for many.
I hope you guys all know this post is trash and should be ignored. The OP only posted to get attention.
If she has no intention of doing anything then why would she even ask the question? See where I’m going with this...
Unfortunately this company doesn’t do a thing for this. A female colleague of mine told me and several others that she gets the creepy “nice guy” routine from someone on her team, and her supervisor (also female) didn’t do a thing. It was basically on her to actively avoid this person whenever possible. The harassment only stopped when that individual retired (with full benefits and on his terms, of course).
Report it and YOU will be the one fired
I would be p-ss-d also especially during a pandemic. I don’t want anybody at all in my personal space. I think the first step is to actually tell the person who did it that it is not ok. Some people take this stuff lightly but they should know you mean business. “ this is a professional environment and I did not appreciate your pat on the back. Please respect my personal space and social distances from now on. “ send it via email so you have documentation. if it happenS again say something similar and copy the supervisors. Be direct and document everything. These people who downplay this are accomplices themselves or grew up with such behaviors. It’s about respect!
What do you mean by small back?
A little advice.. A pat on the back is nothing if done once. Ignore it this time, move on with your life.
If it is more repetitive and he is persistent about unwanted meetings outside the office, then escalate.
As a minority male, I constantly saw discrimination which were subtle all the time to attract attention. Unless you were the victim, it went unnoticed and unreported.
Don't let such behavior go unpunished, especially in an environment like now where they could hold your job as a leverage.
Inform your supervisor. Escalate if it does not get resolved.
You can look online for the anonymous hotline - I don’t have my work computer handy to tell more details as I’ve never had to do so but it should be on the global HR site. My understanding is it goes to corporate HR in Dallas and they follow up as appropriate and as much as you are willing to share. I would imagine you could report it anonymously without giving details.
This is not the place to do so. Unless you are trying to get the person laid off. You put in a Safety observation to make recommendations on how to make a work place a safer place, or you can draft your entry here so that the trolls can comment.
Unfortunately in this environment I wouldn’t do anything unless it happens again and you have a witness. Right now it’s your word versus his and if senior management likes him it will backfire on you.
