They could hold off till the merger, then Husky doesn't look bad in the press as a final act. Cenovus well known for layoffs so probably very quickly a couple thousand families incomes will be disrupted. Hope you didn't load up on cheap debt!

Not to much will happing I think... maybe they will do a bit of house cleaning and trim as much as possible as I'm sure some projects might be stopped until they figure things out, maybe project people/contractors get the boot for now.
Now that they have went public with the merger, nothing is likely to happen until next year.
