Thread regarding Norfolk Southern Corp. layoffs

Trying to fire everybody

They're trying to fire everybody for anything now more than ever. Don't let your guard down. Pretend your being watched the whole time, because you are.

I know of 4 people to get fired recently who had it. 2 of them got paid. The other 2 who didn’t get paid weren’t sleeping or stealing. Falisifying documents is another big one the company will use. Also, you are correct that the payroll department will be aware of you having LECMPA, however, your Supervisor, GF, SGF or anyone else who would write you up are unable to see your personal payroll deductions. Requesting that info from payroll would leave an incriminating paper trail for harassment. Punching in a job code doesn’t pull up the whole pay stub. It is always the loudmouth “idgaf I have Lecmpa” employees who get burned. Hence the comment it’s best to get it and keep your mouth shut.

"Company officials know all about LECMPA and all the stuff if doesn’t cover. They will write you up in a way that they know you won’t get paid. Insubordination, conduct unbecoming, many many more. Best thing is get it and keep your mouth shut about having it"

LECMPA does their own investigations and pays 99% of all claims. LECMPA is well aware of all the company tricks including "Insubordination and Conduct unbecoming an employee". The only claims LECMPA will not pay is you getting caught sleeping on the job or stealing. Also the minute you get LECMPA the company knows you have it, because it's a payroll deduction. ;-)

Every one needs to sign up for LECMPA insurance. At my location it seems they now only pick on the people who are not paying into LECMPA insurance. Also let them put you on the street and when they do sign up for unemployment. At this point in time, let them cut their nose off to spit their face. Who's going to repair the locomotive, freight cars, right of way, etc. if everyone is on the street. Stop jumping through hoops for these id–ts and just let the plan fail. They created this mess not us, so let them come to the cold hard truth they need us to keep their railroad running.

you need to stop hurrying around because they watch you , that just means you make more mistakes and they win again. start calling the union management and get them to use the lawyers they have to fight the company every step of the way , anything you can to get the workers point across , call the fra every time you even think they violated a rule ,quitting doesn't solve anything if anything make them fire you and go to arbitration.

You are right , everyone just quit instead of fighting to make it better, I wish ben franklin would have done that then would not have to work after sundown

That's exactly what they want. But I've survived several of these "let's reinvent the wheel" management around here, only to see them eventually quit or be fired. One minute they're trying to fire you, the next minute they're being fired themselves. It's interesting to watch the upper boss turn on the lower boss.

C'mon people. If it's that horrible then quit.

Working scared and rushed all the times causes injuries. It doesn't prevent them. They never learn

Its been this way for awhile , even if you watch yourself they will set you up if make the wrong person upset , I did and they gave me 45 minutes to turn engines that take 1.5 hours to do and when the train was late they fired me. They also will not allow any of your witnesses come to their mickey mouse investigation.

Word came from up top to find violations no matter how small. They want people scared and taken out of service. This causes injures because people are running around like crazy trying not to get fired.

It's been like that for a while at my location. We had a guy get written up for a hole in his clothing by the same supervisor who will tell you to run locomotives in buildings that won't spot.
