Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Schwabs First Rodeo

For veterans of the industry who may have been in these circumstances before. You can definitely tell Schwab is not prepared for an acquisition of this scale. Poorly organized, poorly communicated and just flat out chaotic. What positions were eliminated? Nobody knows. The only way you can find out is through employee gossip. This breeds resentment which leads to attrition. Lucky for them the job market is not great right now. Otherwise people would be jumping ship in droves. Good luck to everyone on both sides because by the looks of things so far, we will need all the luck we can get.

Listen to Tom Selleck here, saying this is not his first rodeo. You can trust in reverse mortgages, it's not a scam to take your home as a senior....

This isn’t a sign of a first rodeo. You need not know all the details so nothing was told to you. Acquisitions like this involve more than just Schwab execs. Firms that specialize in these sort of things were brought in long ago to move things along. Of course they won’t tell you specifics. Keep the cows at pasture guessing so they don’t all attack you at once. The luck you mention is to you and your fellow employees. For every employee let go, 10 will want to fill their shoes. You need to understand that this sort of consolidation creates one less competitive employer.
