For the visitor to MK, wish you would put this out as a comment (vs. in a reply). This question is important, in many ways.

Went to MK this week. Disney has beyond honored the commitment to diversity/inclusion in cast members. Via visual quick count over 30 minutes, @3 out of 5 cast members “diverse” during that period of time, and this included all the “leads” I saw. Naturally might be more, as did not to want to guess regarding our lbgtqia. It would be interested to learn if Disney layoffs did not impact minorities as much others.

I got an update from my boss that there are going to be some layoffs in corporate. Luckily for me, my department wasn’t affected, so I get to stay on furlough and live to die another day

There are reports of layoffs in other segments starting today, so the ripple effect continues...

"No opening date in sight" means the company can only respond with reducing the headcount. Disney Cruise Line is shut down through the end of this year as well. 18K were let go at WDW (6.7K salaried and 11.3K union hourly) so that leaves at least 10K more to go just to meet the number in the initial layoff announcement.
