Which is worse, shut down the country in order to save lives or let the virus take its course and eliminate people.
The RR will lay off either way. The market looked good today,so if that is any indication everything should be fine. Who knows?

Employee reduction:
4th quarter 2018 - 26,638 average for quarter
3rd quarter 2020 - 19,606 average for quarter
7,030 employees lost through layoffs and attrition since the start of PSR.

Corporate tax hikes = even more layoffs

The shareholders aren’t going to foot the bill. Families will.

Anyone have the total # of employees between 2018 and current at NS?
Kinda curious how many cuts they have made.

Honestly a 10% reduction is believable and sadly might be reality. Pending the results of the election, it's foreseeable that coal country is going to take a huge hit in the near future. It's not deniable. Manufacturing in the mid-west will probably be affected too. That's all going to impact not only NS but the other railroads too.

They are panicking now. Our OR sticks out like a sore thumb compared to other class ones. It’s slash and burn time. They are going to run the entire company maxed out. If somebody so much as trips there will be a train delay. Hope you all like forced overtime...
