As marketed by Cisco - this is the game-changer for the company. They are competing with the likes of Zscaler/PAN and Netskope and can win, thats what SBG leadership is making whole ELT believe – thoughts?

Great product with very small revenue contributions unfortunately
Routing & Switching is just too dominant in terms of overall contributions for this to matter.
The big difference between Umbrella and Zscaler is that Umbrella is falling apart. There's a reason the founder took off ASAP, and that's because he wanted to have a reputation of victory before it all came crashing down.
Cloudflare, among others, are going to destroy Umbrella before the Cisco droids even understand there's something wrong.
Umbrella is a completely cloud based product, no different from zscaler or netskope. I am sure it is great to come on this site and bash Cisco, but at least attempt to get your facts straight first.
Yeah, right... !!
Yes, you are right, Cisco is not a traditional cloud compute nor storage provider, and they don't try to be. Other than that they still have a quite decent portfolio though! As far as I understand the Umbrella Secure Gateway is really a step forward, as it is a similar to what zScaler is doing. Basically, it is a cloud firewall, to which customers tunnel their traffic for inspection. It gives the customer the ability to outsource the hosting of their firewall to Cisco which probably runs that firewall in AWS or Azure. It is a different concept from the traditional open DNS Umbrella which is checking traffic on malware based on DNS requests. Maybe not all is bad, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel?
What advantages would there be to trust your Cloud Security to Cisco?
The Pentagon trusts AWS. The Pentagon dumped Cisco.
Game changer?
Looks more like Mary Poppins with her umbrella coming back down to earth.
Cisco did try to offer a Cloud solution and it was a miserable failu https://www.theregister.com/2016/12/13/cisco_to_kill_its_intercloud_public_cloud_on_march_31st_2017/re.
Netskope has been named a leader in Cloud security. Companies like Zscaler, et all have Cloud security.
Cisco has no Cloud. Read that again. Yes, it is true. Cisco actually has NO Cloud.
So, basically Cisco is saying that they have an umbrella, in case there is a Cloud. Isn't that pathetic?
If you would like to understand what that means, think of the old days when you bought a dial up modem and your friends already had Cable TV.
When was the last time Cisco changed the game?
When was the last time Cisco was a disruptor in the industry?
Everything that Cisco buys turns into a router, and to be fair that's cool because routing is their core business.
But when it comes to Cloud people often think that Cisco is the game changer because a lot of Cloud providers do buy Cisco routers. That is true.
But Cisco actually is NOT a Cloud provider. Cisco never did get its feet wet by moving into the Cloud business.
Why?
I don't know, but I think Cisco is obviously afraid to be a game changer, because if Cisco were to actually develop a Cloud product, wouldn't Cisco be worried about losing Router sales to AWS, IBM, Google, and other actual Cloud providers.
I hate to say it, but I feel that Cisco is in a CHECKMATE scenario and afraid to make a move.
Like a deer in the headlight. That is not a game changing company.
It's more like a company that has been in paralysis while other companies have long since passed it by.
