The Financial Billing Operation team will be moving employees there from all over. When they announced in Sept 2019 they were laying off 1400 throughout the world FOX news did a piece on Tucker Carlson and T's reaction include making a job offer to all of the 1400 to retain their job but it would be in Birmingham. Layoffs will happen in 1Q2021 now that Accenture is fully trained and people who accepted will move to Birmingham. Weird process but they feared the outside publicity.
Massive FTTH buildout for Ensley, Forestdale, Worst End, B'emma, & Bucksville Wire Centers...selling off all others to the lowest bidder.
OP - I can't speak to your Lay Off question.... The Hoover DC construction has been going on for quite a while - just needed maintenance work. They replaced all the old (original from the 70's) glued on pebble board siding because the pebbles were starting to fall off. Now they are fixing the North Entrance - looks like they are replacing the walkway bridge from the parking lot to the doorway.
