Does anyone truly know if you can volunteer to leave and take the severance?

If you do that, you’ll likely get pip’d in July. It won’t affect the algorithm.
If you leave before Nov 20, you’ll keep a coworker that wants to be there from losing their job.
You can’t volunteer however go one level above your supervisor and tell them you don’t think you have a long term fit.
Since long term fit is part of the metrics it may allow them to rank you lower and get you on the list.
