The leaked benchmark showed M1 beat all Intel cpu on imac pro, including i9. Like the 2nd post said, there will be M2, M3... Apple will release desktop version, data center version (why not).

Intel is facing extreme challenges in near future. Maybe, Intel will be very differently 2-3 years from now.

'Only The Paranoid Survive' : Andy Grove, 1988 .. a study in how not to run Intel over the last 20 years.

Remember the roaring tick tock days when intel had a process lead and every year iterated design and process alternately. In those days everyone else was between one and two generations behind on process node.

Now AMD is on 7nm and Apple on 5nm and most intel products on 14++++++++++ while 10 superBS is coming someday soon.

Apple has a new design every year and TSMC delivers a new process every year

Who can afford to stay TMG LTD/FSM is finished!

M1 is 5nm, probably takes intel until 2050s to get there.

The M1 is just the tip of the iceberg. It’s an MVP desktop arm chip.

M2, M3... released at a steady apple pace... that is the problem for intel...
