Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

The assessment.

How good a job did the assessment do of determining what skills you have, and whether or not you are a good fit for your current role?

In the Northeast, a top performing leader and claim rep were let go. They were the most knowledgeable and hardest workers!

The goal was to fire people that had knowledge, seniority, and higher pay. Now they are hiring at a lower pay and/or moving the work to India. They no longer care about quality. It’s al about saving money on a spreadsheet. It will come back and back fire but they don’t care.

No one got any results. I have 35 years and purposely threw the assessment so I could get years severance pay and retire.

If the assessment actually mattered they would have been required to release the scores. The assessment was a cover-up and those let go were hand picked. The people left in the department I was riffed from were the middle of the road folks. They canned the best and the worst and left mediocre employees hoping it will all become to much and they will quit.

Completely agree that it was just a smoke screen for the real reason of laying off tenured, and therefore expensive people. There were very few people laid off amongst teams in my office that weren't tenured, so it was completely bogus.

It did a good job covering for the real tactic .....get rid of one old high pay, to one new low pay. Make it look fair. Make it look like it’s really based on something other than our greed and whims. Want your results so you can learn from them ? Sorry that’s private information we will use later at our whim. TW may give you some insights. He knows his results. Oh yeah, but he only answers rehearsed scripted softball questions at his town halls. Don’t want to catch the big guy off guard. Wouldn’t be fair to him. What a crook and a crock!!

It did a good job telling them what skills you have.
