Hearing that MEI, a scab competitor, toured Jenks this last week. Seriously, whats up with that?

BNSF is the best out there. Hands down.
If you’re talking about the non union managers that replaced the foremen, they’re not running anything. They’re just banking their money and waiting for the shoe to drop.
Non union managers are really running this company to the ground they are puppets to the higher ups spineless jokers
I thought Jenks was closing today? The headline several weeks ago was that “Jenks Closing November 15”. What happened? It’s still there. DOH!
Just another vulture company looking to peck the carrion off the carcass of the once-great Union Pacific Railroad....
Lol .. if MEI is touring it’s not to “standardize work” also most class 1s don’t still have back shops .. they are a thing of the past !!!
MEI also toured DeSoto car shop last week as well. Was told the reason for their visit was just simply to make sure the work they do vs DeSoto’s work done on cars were the same. “Apples to apples” was the phrase managers kept using.
At this point, does it really matter why they toured? People are starting to let their guard down now that they know when the COO will be gone. In case anyone forgot, HE'S STILL THERE! Hell be serving as an advisor until June. So basically he's there until next June. I agree completely with the fact that no one knows anything except Omaha. Quit holding onto everything you heard. I've heard so many stories and rumors of what was coming and 90% of it never happened
Everyone has toured Jenks at some point throughout the years from EMD (Progress Rail/Caterpillar), GE (Wabtec), to the other class one railroads. Until you see a press release saying Jenks has been sold to (insert name of buyer here) Jenks will be run and owned by UP. Will Jenks be sold off only people that know that answer are in the glass palace. Realize that most class ones still have their own rebuild facilities so they can cut some cost and downtime caused by sending locomotives that need to be rebuilt to scab shops. Also it should be said that they could be touring Jenks to try to figure out how they can cut their own cost to try to take work from Jenks (which in the past has usually undercut the scab shops on both cost and downtime) or see if there is something Jenks doesn’t do that they can capitalize on. Just before the alleged (covid) shutdown they said Jenks was being sold to Progress Rail and that still hasn’t come to fruition. Best and unpopular advice is to stop listening to the locker room gossip and wait and see what if anything comes to light from the visit.
I SAY, UNIONIZE THE SCAB SHOPS!!! promote that!
You know what’s up with that. Word is Watco is also supposed to take over several of the SIT yards
