I hate when I get told this on the daily. It seems to be my manager's favorite phrase especially when I am given a mile long list of tasks to do. And while I’m running around the floor assisting customers while balancing three more tasks he can do just as well - he is on his phone sitting cozy in his office. I'm really starting to hate this place.

@aef I have no idea where you have worked in your life. I have never seen what you are saying. Typically managers will roll up their sleeves to help when needed. But not at Sam's/Walmart. Most are lazy AF as they climb the ladder forgetting where they came from.
Managers working retail need to work. I worked for general managers who would work on the floor daily. Managers who do work on the floor are not leaders they are lazy. There is no rule at Sam’s that they must sit all day.
Maybe he is in his office because that is where he is told to be. There are some companies that expect (and tell) managers that they will plant themselves in a chair behind a desk and that is where they will stay. Other companies required their managers to actively work along side the other employees and manage their time so they can also complete their assigned managerial duties.
