Class Action Lawsuit

Is anyone looking into a lawsuit as a group of employees?

Is it better to file a class action lawsuit? Or, should we think about starting a union? A lawsuit does not guarantee change, but a union does.

The US is the only "country" in the world with employment at will doctrine. Truth hurts.

You have no chance if you are in an at will state. They can Lay you off and you can quit. You need to put your efforts in getting another job and reworking your finances and life in general as you now know how quickly things can change. It is tough but necessary and this will all be a distant memory at some point.

They are laying off high wage earners who tend to be older employees with a lot of tenure or they’re laying off employees with lower review ratings.

If there were a lawsuit they would simply say “we eliminated employees who were more than x % above midline for their role.”

if anything getting laid off from optum is a blessing. might not seem like it yet, give it a few months after you find your next job.

Youre an employment at will in the us empire. Unlike any other country. You have very few if any employment rights. They can terminate you for any reason or no reason at any time. That's the usa-it was a corporation with employee slaves, the more in debt, the more you hamster wheel.
