Thread regarding Optum layoffs

In this day and age, getting really good at a specific job or role is a detriment

we as professionals always need to be learning new skills and roles. Never let your skills get too specific or tied to a single company. Always be learning. Always get new skills. Always try to get different roles to grow yourself. If you get tied down to a specific company, technology, process...you end up being at the losing end. In this day and age, getting really good at a specific job or role is a detriment to you.

I think this is perfectly put, @5phs+171StnSJ. Staying dormant just locks you into one position and seriously reduces your chances of finding employment after being laid off. Find time to improve yourself, your future self will thank you.

Keep your skills fresh, and get more education. Go back to school and learn as much as you can. Don't listen to the negative nellies. You can do it!!

Gas lighting too. Good riddance, and for those who are still there. Good luck.

Also, be very careful of group think at that place. The obscessive desire for harmony and conformity can be quite toxic. It was apparent in the american corporation for which yes men were promoted and those that had an independent thought, creativity, were gone.
