Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

I haven’t heard about courage to care or total safety culture in a while at my location.

Why do you think they got rid of it? They were always a joke and everyone made fun of the courage to care videos. But I think with Vena here Lance realized he didn’t have to pretend that he cared anymore and he was very relieved he didn’t have to put on anymore vests and get in front of the camera and act sad. Now they’re just honest with you and let you know they don’t care. They have the courage not to care.

Do they actually still have those programs? I thought those left awhile ago. Who's left to have the courage to care about closed and idled shops?

Yep. We’ll get someone seriously injured or worse and they’ll be talking about we almost lost a member of the “UP family”

Production first, safety last, pull those trains fast fast fast. Guessing you haven’t been paying attention seeing as your asking about courage to safety culture. None of those programs add “VALUE” and are being pushed to the side because they cost the company money, but wait till someone gets hurt and they’ll react like always and blitz everyone for a month or two then go back to business as usual. Just look at all the derailments they’ve had that shows just how much they focus on public safety.
