At this point, what do you think it would take for our Union leaders to agree to strike? Is there literally anything that would make them strike? I don’t think so. I think they’ll let Lance and Vena and whoever comes next tear this company apart piece by piece until there isn’t anything left to have a Union for. The railroad unions are by far the weakest unions in any form of organized labor in the United States. It is a shame because it didn’t used to be that way. We got our own retirement system back in the day separate from social security. We fought for Labor Day. Now we just have a bunch of Union leaders at the top lining their pockets and they don’t care what happens to the working man. We need some leaders with backbone but they aren’t to be found. It is every man for himself.

Your the same type that cries when there’s plenty of work to go around because “we need more time off.” The old heads always told us to work when the work is there because it won’t always be. People like you are why I stopped going to union meetings and could never be a rep, you cry no matter what.
You are correct. Just wait until you see your next contract. You will have all the proof you will need for the non believers.

If you are so eager to strike, you should run for local chairman of your craft and try to do something about it! If you don’t want anybody to comment o.p then don’t post! I’ve been on the railroad 20 years and one thing I do know, seniority rules! If your roster seniority is that low and all you can say is let’s strike! Tell me how that goes? If your roster seniority is that weak then maybe you should seek other employment because striking will put you on the street for good! With all the furloughed employees on the street the railroad could replace you! Think about that op?
