I worked in security for 5 1/2 years at SeaWorld Orlando/Aquatica/Discovery Cove and really loved working there the first 3-4 years. I thought the security team really worked together and was a fun place to work at the time. Then they went downhill. The security management was awful, namely 'TJ' and she didn't give a c-ap about good loyal employees except for her inflated ego. There was a lot of turnover there of really good officers and leadership. It's a shame because I thought it was they best park to work compared to Disney and Universal. But the money hungry corporate people and upper management never took care of the workers.
I was not in security but thats is every department. The leadership some of them act like they care but behind closed door its a kiss a.. fest. I mean its not the company it was five years ago and forget the bush days. Now its a corporate machine that worships the dollar not its guests and definitely not its employees. But Monday thru Thursday with attendance around 500 to 1000 take a guess whos paying the price now. The more we talk about it and get it out in the public the more they will respond. I have moved on but will continue to push for this. The animals get better treatment than the people but they dont have a voice we do keep it alive. And good luck.
