Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

What is Digital Guardian and why was it installed on my PC on Sept 29?

what is Digital Guardian and why was it installed on my PC on Sept 29? Worse, I can see that it was installed by Nike Tools on that date, but it doesn't show up in my Apps under System Settings or in my desktop area... implying they tried to hide it.

Should I assume the worst?

Unless you're a software developer, it shouldn't mess up your life too much.

Create/copy/delete a zillion little files a day as part of doing a build? Then prepare to have your disk I/O slow to a crawl while DG determines if you're allowed to touch each file.

When they first rolled it out to IT using Macs, it completely shut us down - no testing was done before they rolled it out. WE were the test!

Says it all right there

If you are doing everything according to the rules you should be fine.

You can learn more about it here:

It's data loss prevention software, so I wouldn't be worried unless you're trying to transfer sensitive Nike data off your computer. In typical Nike fashion it was deployed in a way that completely messes with your head.

One google search would give you your answer as to what... As to when, I've had it for at least a couple years, most of us do.
