Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Time off Requests

Anyone having an issue getting their time off requests approved? I was under the impression the new system was designed to make it easier for us to use our time to be off. I’ve been met with nothing but refusals. I get that stores only have 5 or 6 reps but that is not my problem. Verizon shouldn’t have forced so many people out. Give me my time off!

I can see where managers are having a hard time approving time off requests because of low head count but who’s fault is that? Stores have lost reps to telesales and parents staying home for kids schooling. Verizon knew all of this was coming but never planned ahead. Now you have stores running on fumes for 4th quarter with no help in sight. It’s going to be a miserable holiday season.

This sounds like a troll who didn’t get their way - so randomly all this store’s or districts reps start posting in the same day with in hours? Lol - this is one salty rep who didn’t win a trophy - a 90s kid who got ice cream for last place.

You guys LITERALLY will cry over everything. Why is you hate Verizon so much yet you still work for them? Verizon is gonna so what Verizon is gonna do, its not gonna change. It’s been like this since the beginning. So either s— it up and play the hand that’s dealt or fold and go find new work.

It’s very frustrating! First they take the day off no pay code away from us. Then they encourage us to use personal and vacation time for a better work home balance when really 3.0 was supposed to do that anyway. I really don’t get that ideology. On top of all of that I personally still get about half of my requests refused. They aren’t even full weeks or 4 day weekends. It’s honestly just a day here and there over the course of a month. To reiterate what someone said already, it’s not our fault that Verizon decided to cut ties with lots of reps. We are being punished again for something out of our control. Seems to be a common theme with Verizon.

People need to start taking this to their HR rep. and if there is no resolution find a good attorney. I smell class action lawsuit for those hitting the cap because of repeated refusals. Don’t think that would play well to a jury.

Are you talking like a personal day here and there or full weeks off getting refused? I had a DM tell me if I was declined a personal day to just call in sick. This has worked out well in that I didn’t need to actually use my own time. You get 5 of these a year so I hope this helps. BTW this is a record year for Verizon with reps taking sick days.

I’m an SM in the West and this is a huge organization problem. We have 9 people and 7 are capped on time but the refusals keep rolling in. Remember when our credo meant something? Verizon 2.0 can s— my a–....
