Fight back.

I don’t work at Nike but I see the stress this potential layoff has set with my wife. It has really affected our family as I’m sure has affected others. You all need to stand up and fight back. If it’s not money why they are firing people. You guys need to fight against that new CEO and get his a– fired. Holiday season is coming that’s a lot of money for them. Rally up all your troops and go on strike. Stop working. All of you. Every single person STOP and they won’t be able to accomplish anything without you. Don’t make yourselves slaves to the Swoosh or stress make the swooosh work for you. Establish your own voice and leadership. Start a fight back
My sincere advice is to dig your well before you are thirsty.
Layoffs have been a fact of corporate life since...well, since the first corporation was founded four centuries ago. Nike is not exceptional nor immune. These layoffs are happening–that is the reality. Lawyers, HR, portals...cannot help you at this point. Take the severance package and leave with dignity.
If you are vulnerable, update your LinkedIn and your resume and start pinging your network. There is a very good chance you will be happier and more fulfilled in your next job.
The only person who can save you is you.
Always recomend consulting an attorney before signing a severance letter, you should try to demand more especially if you have been biased against, bullied, or told to be quiet by any managers, and more specifically being let go due to your age and fellow co workers are younger than you or being replaced by someone younger who got promoted.
If you have never been let go in a similar circumstance as nikes current layoffs, you dont know what you could get. Nike will continue to preach their fairness but they are hypocriticates. They are laying off folks in their 50's who will be challenged to find employment, and a younger nike employee will slide into that same job.
I think the OP is using sarcasm - you cannot fight layoffs, they just happen.
