Thread regarding Pioneer Natural Resources Co. layoffs

Like if you think the layoffs were performance based.

Some people who stayed saying it’s all about business needs and performance.

Is it? I have a different opinion, but it no longer matters

Considering a lot of people asked for the package and/or were given the choice to stay or take the package, not all people gone are gone due to performance issues. I never had anything but exceeding reviews, and I was given the choice and chose to leave. I could see where this company is going.

It is shady of the company to have said that in the first place. I have worked other places there were restructuring layoffs, and management was honest about having to let go good people. Yes tell those who are left they are the best of the best, but don't bad mouth good people you let go. Especially while they are looking for opportunities in the midst of a pandemic. Bad karma. The severance was a great gesture, don't ruin it with making the people you let go look bad.

@quitcrying. Sounds like you were totally worth being kept.

For someone who still has a job you’re pretty loud on this website. Move on dude, go s— some big one and climb the career step stool.

Who cares!! Crying on this website won’t change anything. You got let go! So what! You got a check now shut up and move on! Yes you were not worth keeping or however you want to see it. But next time it could be me. I’m not worried. Keep crying in this website how bad it is and how bad you have it and how horrible it was to be laid off. It’s not going to change your circumstances. S— it the f— up!!

Does not matter to me either way. I know it was number one, but I have family to feed and clothes to buy and now I am without insurance with Covid is all around. I did the very best I could and the manager did not like me, so now my family will suffer. I got caught up in something bad and got the bad end of the stick, but I will make the best of it. I still will have medicine to buy for the elderly and food they are going to need and clothes for the babies. My obligations do not go away, just my job!!

Dislike if you think it was primarily based on:

  1. Did your manager like you enough?
  2. Did your vp like you enough? And did they make decisions without consulting your manager?
  3. Did you have an hr write up?
  4. Did you grab two cookies instead of one on multiple occasions?

Based on who got laid off, I can assure you performance has nothing to do with it.
