People on this forum can really piss me off sometimes. I don't care about all the layoffs, that doesn't negate the fact that this is still one of the best companies to work for! Find me one other O&G company that has job security? I'm betting you can't name any. Layoffs are just a fact of life, deal with it and consider yourself lucky you work here.

1,100 people laid off over a year....that’s job security? I was at Pioneer half my life, and I can tell you it’s not the company it once was.
This is one of the worst attempts at trolling I’ve seen on this site.
You lay off a good hand that works twelve hour days and worked weekends and holidays and yet you replace workers that will only work maybe 5 hours a day. Good luck!!

Lol the company i went to post pxd a few years ago pays me better. Equal benefits. Better environment. No layoffs due to incompetent management decisions. I can't speak for every department but pxd geology is a toxic place to work.
If you’re a petroleum engineer in DFW then it’s a great company. You’re very well compensated and have a cozy life. If you’re not and have transferable skills then you’re wasting your time at a company that views you as easily replaceable and shows no RESPECT for your career.
You expect people who are laid off without good reason to say nice things? I know it is spun as performance related, but really it is not for all the people laid off. So some will be p-ss-d off.
Let it go, if you are happy, great let others mourn/vent in their own way.
