Hey ..I realize you're management and all but try to pay attention.. 1K a week is the Eipp..Has NOTHING to do with the buyout pension. Just a little something extra ( a bonus which im sure your not all that familiar with) they give to people who were smart enough not to go into management .

The offer HAS been made and will be made in NY shortly. If you have more than 30 years and managed to put anything in you 401K you will be leaving here a Millionaire. If that aggravates you to the point that you find it necessary to post 5 paragraphs about how bad the union is then maybe you are just an angry person whos stuck working a job for a company that didn't respect you enough to maintain your pension.

I got the offer today. 66K+10K bonus. Off books by Dec. 5. You can take the $66K over four years, or half now and the remainder for four years. The $10K is paid immediately.
So, as was rumored, it’s not the Special EISP.
I don’t know how much interest there will be in a package this size. Probably not a lot.

This is the biggest load of crud I have ever read "30 years of sacrifice and time away from our family". Um you sacrificed nothing! You choose the job, you chose to work and you were PAID for that work. Even in communist Russia where my parents came from they had to WORK!!!!! How do you think you can buy food if you don't work you id–t? Just the act of working to put food on the table takes you from your family id–t! There was NO 30 year sacrifice by you or anyone else here, that is laughable.

That statement immediately tells me you don't understand what the word union means our pension or buyout is what we have earned through 30 years of sacrifice and time away from our family and thankfully our union leaders have negotiated a contract for its members that provides us the ability to retire with some dignity and you should want the same thing for you and your family its not a handout its what you have earned after 30 years of hard work

Just received my offer today. Came early. Off the books Dec 5. We will see how many takers. No $50k bonus. Maybe at the end of the contract the $50k bonus will reappear.
Point being if your lump some is 900 and they add 76 thats a million dollars if you stay 3 years your lump sum could be 600 with no enhancement so you worked 3 years for nothing

Just got my package, reading it, I’m a little thrown back at the offer, I feel offended, so I will stay at my current job, It just doesn’t make sense. Let me break it down, 76,000 added to my lump sum, when I can pull in 300,000 plus the next 3 years for waving a flag, being a “second man” or whatever, as long as it’s not doing Fios, it’s a no brainer, I will ride it out ..
So you admit, your jobs are old, crusty and outdated and Verizon does not need all you people anymore to work on old and antiquated equipment that will be sunset in a few years from now. How has a POTS line anymore? Copper and fiber are things of the past hence the large reductions in the workforce. POTS lines, T-1's are relic's of the past and are extremely costly to repair and to maintain, hence the the death of the house hold landline.
It must really s— that knowing your jobs are not longer in demand while the non union part of Verizon is exploding. Good luck out there with your claimed million $ packages. I am sure in a year or two you all will be out there looking for jobs once again when your rifle through all your savings.
I myself am on track for leaving Verizon Wireless and retiring, but I don't need a package, I don't need hand outs. I was smart enough to invest my earnings and I can walk away at 48 years of age and do what i have always wanted in life. At least I know over the past 23 years of working what we have built is the future, not the past. Wireless in all it's forms is the future and has been while copper will die off completely and fiber will be a niche use, my world is growing while the union world is shrinking and shrinking. And BTW if you don't know this buy now you are id–ts...
